Interior Design & Amenities
If you want an attractive and comfortable cabin for your daily travels, you’ll find it with the 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or 2019 BMW X5.
They’re both well-built and quiet at any speed. The Range Rover Sport is also filled with premium materials, which includes standard grained leather upholstery or seating available in Semi-Aniline leather with a Cut Diamond pattern. You can also get an Extended Carbon Fiber veneer to really boost the vehicle’s refinement.
While the X5 interior is pleasant, many people believe the style is a bit outdated. Plus, the vehicle comes standard with SensaTec upholstery, which is a synthetic leather.
However, both models offer many amenities to help keep everyone on board happy. Heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel are available. So, no matter what the temperature is outside, you can adjust your comfort levels nicely with the quick touch of a button.
The 2019 Range Rover Sport and 2019 X5 also offer high-tech features to help keep you connected and entertained throughout every commute.
With the Range Rover Sport, you have a Land Rover InControl® Touch Pro Duo infotainment system. It comes standard with two 10-inch high-definition touchscreens, so you can easily access all your media options. For example, you can use the navigation system on the top screen while controlling audio or climate controls on the bottom one.
Meanwhile, the X5 one has just one infotainment system. Therefore, you couldn’t have all the options you’d want up at the same time.
Furthermore, the Range Rover Sport offers a rear seat entertainment system. You can either have two 8-inch screens built into the back of the front headrests or two 10-inch seat-mounted articulating touchscreens. The system even has a pop-up “Trip Status” option, which gives you an estimated time of arrival right on the screen.
Unfortunately, the X5 doesn’t offer a rear seat entertainment system.
Range Rover Sport vs X5 Performance Specs
When it comes to performance, these vehicles have lots of power and comfortable ride qualities. Plus, they both handle well both on- and off-road.
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport has five engines to choose from. The standard 3.0L V6 delivers 355 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. For the ultimate amount of power, there’s the available 5.0L V8. This engine churns out 575 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque to handle any driving scenario with ease.
The BMW X5, on the other hand, has two engine options. Plus, the more powerful 4.4L V8 delivers just 456 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.
Although the Sport provides easy travels on city streets and open highways, it really shines off the beaten path.
The vehicle has lots of features that contribute to its off-roading capabilities, including Terrain Response® and Terrain Response® 2. The first system comes standard and lets you manually select from five settings, including Sand and Mud & Ruts. The second system is available and will automatically select the most appropriate setting for the current terrain.
You can go off-roading in the X5, too. However, it doesn’t offer anything as advanced as Terrain Response® or Terrain Response® 2.
