Under the Hood of the Velar
The Range Rover Velar SUV comes standard with a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that makes an impressive 247 horsepower. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard on all trim levels. There are two additional engines to choose from, including a fuel-efficient diesel engine and a powerful V6.
Every Velar comes standard with the Terrain Response® system, which allows drivers to manually select a drive setting, which adjusts the feel of the car to suit your preferences. These modes include Eco, Comfort, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Ruts, Sand, and Dynamic. An Adaptive Dynamics suspension system is also standard, and can quickly adjust while driving, for optimum stability and a confident feel.
The styling of the vehicle is sleek and on par with the larger options in the brand’s lineup. The vehicle can tow up to 5,512 pounds when properly equipped. The wheelbase is 113 inches, and the SUV is 189 inches long. Width is 80 inches, and height is 65.5 inches. The total curb weight of the SUV is 4,217 pounds.

Inside the cabin of this SUV, there’s seating for five on standard leatherette and faux suede seats. The front seats are 10-way power-adjustable, so it’s easy to find a comfortable seating position, and the rear seats split 40/20/40 for convenient versatility in carrying both passengers and cargo.
For the ultimate luxury, you can upgrade to 20-way power-adjustable leather front seats, with massage, heat, and ventilation. All the seats are roomy and comfortable, and there’s 34.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. When you fold those seats down, you’ll get a total of 70.1 cubic feet of cargo capacity, which is one of the best ratings in the class. A convenient hands-free power liftgate is standard, as well.
